THIS SECTION IS DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF TOM FINEGAN 1926 - 2001 AND CATHERINE MOLLOY 1908 - 2002

Tom was so proud of Beyond the Pale, in particular his cameo appearance, although only a background actor, you can see him giving a great performance. He loved being an Irish American and he loved his native Brooklyn, the only time he ever left was to fulfill his lifelong dream of visiting Ireland. He was an impulsive man, he asked his wife to marry him on their first date and she agreed. He used to invite strangers - dangerous looking strangers back to his room for a drink. I remember coming home one night to find him being shaved by a guy with a straight razor, a guy Tom introduced to me as one of his friends. Thanks for being my friend Tom, you were always there for me.

Catherine or K as she was known to all was Born in County Mayo in 1908, she moved to New York in 1925 with her older brother and two sisters, a devout Catholic who never married she was the complete opposite to Tom, in fact she was the type of person he normally couldn’t stand, she was a pillar of the community, the type of person you would expect to run a mile from the likes of Mr. Finegan. Far from it, her Brooklyn home for many years catered for New York’s unwashed and unwanted, she ran the 4 storey brownstone with military like precision and her house rules were never broken. She was a giver in the truest sense of the word never wanting or seeking anything in return, she got her rewards by helping people get back on their feet. Thanks K for getting me back on my feet when times were tough. I miss you both, my love and thanks always, Pat.
